What partial front PPF covers
Most rock chips land on the first couple of feet of the car: the bumper, the front edge of the hood and the tips of the fenders. A partial front kit (sometimes called a "bikini" or "clear bra" kit) puts film exactly there and skips the rest of the hood to keep the price down.
The trade-off is a film edge that runs across the hood and fenders about 18–24 inches back. On light-colored and silver cars it's very hard to spot. On dark or black paint it can be visible up close, and over the years a faint line can form where the protected and unprotected paint age differently. If that bothers you, full front PPF wraps the whole hood and has no line.
Who it's for
- Daily drivers that see a lot of highway time on I-40, I-440 and US-1
- Leased cars, where you want to avoid chip charges at turn-in without spending on full coverage
- Light-colored paint, where the film line is nearly invisible
Install time and what to expect
A partial front install takes about 3–5 hours. Because it's a smaller job, we block off the whole day for your car anyway, so we never rush the prep. We wash and decontaminate the paint, lay precision-cut film and wrap edges where the panel allows. You can drive the car the same day; wait about a week before washing so the adhesive fully cures.
Price
Partial front PPF starts at $1,175 for a sedan. SUVs, trucks and larger cars cost a little more because there's more surface to cover. See what PPF costs in Raleigh for the full breakdown, or build your exact coverage and get an instant estimate online.
